Espoo landscape

The ValueSec project is unique in its objectives and methodology: Currently the vast majority of security related decisions is characterized by a complex set of parameters influencing them. They range from quantifiable factors like costs, investment budgets and benefits such as the intended reduction of damages to highly uncertain and qualitative factors such as political objectives or societal acceptance. The ValueSec project aims to provide decision makers with tools to support rational decision-making by establishing methodologies to increase the transparency of the decisions-making process and the driving decision parameters.

The objective of the workshop in Espoo is to bring together policy level decision makers from Europe to analyse the basic elements of the decision making process. The results of the workshop will be used to derive stakeholder requirements for the development of decision support tools. The workshop will be made up of introductory presentations and a computer aided brain storming session.

The workshop will offer you the chance to receive further information on the context of the project and to get in contact with your peer decision makers to exchange experience.

The participation in the workshop is free of charge. However, as there is limited space, please confirm your attendance to [email protected] before May 15th, 2011.
